The Kamov Ka-62 is a medium-sized transport helicopter being developed by Russian Helicopters company. It is designed for a wide range of commercial applications, including corporate transportation, offshore operations, emergency medical services, and search and rescue missions.
The helicopter is equipped with advanced avionics and features a five-bladed main rotor system that reduces vibration and noise levels, ensuring exceptional passenger comfort. It is powered by two French-built Turbomeca Ardiden 3G engines, which provide a significant increase in power and overall reliability compared to previous-generation helicopters.
The Ka-62 has a maximum takeoff weight of 6,200kg, a cruising speed of 260 km/h (162 mph), and a range of up to 700 km (435 miles), making it well-suited for long-range operations. It can accommodate up to 15 passengers and can be configured for a wide range of tasks, including cargo transportation, search and rescue, firefighting, and more.
The Kamov Ka-62 is expected to enter service in 2022 and will compete directly with other medium-sized transport helicopters, including the Airbus H160 and the Leonardo AW139.
